Our
Mission
The mission of the
Savannah Volunteer Guard is to preserve the history of the Savannah, Georgia-based
"Guards"
and supporting community welfare through education and recreation.
The purpose of our website is to provide an online portal on the world wide web; to be an information resource about the Guard, its celebrated figures, and the group's participation as an active military unit in the war-time history of the United States from 1802 to the Vietnam War.
As well, we will continue to populate our website; to inform our Savannah and broader communities of our efforts, since becoming a membership organization, to support and educate the community about our history, contributions during all of the aforementioned events, and continuing efforts to support our members and their families.
